What’s in my travel makeup bag | Cruelty free beauty

IMG_0121

Long weekends are my favorite holidays. They leave enough time to soak up some sun, explore the destination but you don’t get that homesick feeling one gets on a long trip. Taking just a carry on case seems the perfect choice for 3 nights away, however it can be a bit of a challenge to get my head around the regulations for toiletries/liquids.

Even though I’m quite a minimalist when it come to makeup, I find myself wanting to take my whole collection with me. After forcing myself to be realistic on what makeup I actually need to take with me, I’ve finally got my travel makeup bag together.

Liquids

When you’re carrying liquids on board all products must be under 100 ml and be able to fit into a clear bag which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm.

  • Moisturizer/Primer

For a two in one moisturizer and primer, Embrylosisse Lait-Creme Concentre is amazing. It manages to leave skin incredibly nourished without feeling oily. It come in two sizes, the smaller is 75 ml so just the right size for traveling.

  • Foundation/ Tinted moisturizer

If I’m going to a hot country I usually take a tinted moisturizer. I use the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. This is nice sheer base which is perfect for days when your sweating and still want to look polished. It has SPF 30 which is a bonus but I’d still recommend to wear SPF50 suncream underneath to keep your skin looking youthful.

For a foundation, I’m a loyal fan of Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I have normal/combination skin and this foundation never fails to give me glowing medium coverage. I’m in the shade Gobi but if I have false tan on I mix it with Fiji.

  • Concealer

I also use Nars Creamy Concealer whatever the look I’m going for. It effortlessly blends into the skin and can be worn along just to perfect the skin.

  • Brows

I tend to reach for my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in medium brown most days so it’s a must when it come to traveling. I use this with an fine eyebrow brush to create natural but dark brows.

  • Mascara

For mascara, I take the Eyeko Eye Do Mascara. It keep lashes soft whilst lengthening them. I can happily walk out the house with concealer and mascara so I’m more than happy to spend a little more on it.

Non Liquids

  • Bronzer / Highlight

When I travel I find it much easier to just take a powder bronzer and highlighter in palette. This Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is beautiful on the skin. Instead of being packed with obvious glitter, the powders just add a slight shimmer which reflects in the light to give a healthy glow.

  • Powder

If I’m being honest I am really not a fan of using much powder, however I do use a little on my nose to prevent makeup rubbing off on sunglasses. I use powder more when I’m on holiday as for some reason I do tend to get oilier. The NYX Translucent powder is amazingly fine so is perfect for people like me who prefer a dewier look.

  • Eyeshadow

I don’t usually wear too much eyeshadow day to day but when I’m going out or on holiday I like to experiment a little with my eye makeup. This Charlotte Tillbury Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita is a stunning mix of warm shades. You can create at least 3 different looks with it, whether you just want a simple minimal look or you want to go all out with a sultry smoky eye.
